A Note About Mental Health Crisis and Support
This book, and the teachings within it, are intended for those walking a spiritual path. They speak to being, identity, suffering, and truth — but they are not a replacement for professional help in times of immediate crisis.
The path laid out in A Call to War is like climbing Everest, an ascent into purity. The higher you climb, the less the mind can breathe, in the cold, thin air. People train for years before attempting Everest. The spiritual path should be treated with the same respect.
Modern spirituality often describes a safe journey, open to anyone. But the truth is more complex, more demanding, and far more dangerous. Anyone can walk a true spiritual path — but only at the right time, and only from a foundation of mental and physical readiness.
Real spirituality and metaphysics is war with identity — the systematic confrontation and dismantling of all that you believe yourself to be. This cannot be done from a place of crisis. You must take care of your health and safety first.
If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts, deep psychological distress, or overwhelming suffering, seek support from a qualified mental health or medical professional. Use one of the contact lines below. They exist to keep you alive — and alive is where the work begins. So put the book, and the Work, down. Heal. Stabilise. Then return. The mountain will always be here, and so will we.
